Eibsee Lake is located in Germany, 100km southwest from Munich, around the city of Grainau. Close to the city of Garmisch-Partenkirchen and at the base of Zugspitze Mountain, the highest of Germany, it is 973 meters above the see level and occupies an area of 1750 m2.
The lake stands out for the transparency and colour of the water, which emphasizes the green surroundings and mountain.
The Interpretation Centre is intended to crystallize the surroundings, simulating the lake’s different tonalities during the year and minimizing the building’s presence in the landscape. A structure of steel and glass incorporates the landscape in the interior experience of the building.
Like a snowflake, the building is developed from the center, distributing in different arms its functions and allowing unique frames of the landscape.
