SÃO JOSÉ VILLA

CLIENT  PRIVATE  |  LOCATION  ALCOBAÇA, PORTUGAL  |  YEAR  2011_ 2016 |  AREA  380,00 M2

Built in the beginning of the twentieth century this house was renovated in the nineties, period in which was lost part of the original character of its walls, floors, ceilings and vertical tile roofing. This renovation project intended to restore the ancient house lost identity adding a contemporary architectural language to it.

The sophistication is achieved with detail and therefore the intervention embraced all scales of design, from the kitchen’s layout to the cooper door handles design. Assuming detail allowed a sophisticated and personalized design.

As for the materials we have chosen Iroko wood for all the closets and kitchen cabinet, copper for the door handles and interior window shutters and marble for the floors and kitchen countertop. In order to enhance the colour of the wood we adopted a simple and clear design in the remaining areas of the house.
